Physical Rehabilitation Sessions

Physical Rehabilitation is the process of restoring the body back to heath. Sessions include a blend of movement therapy and manual therapy. Sessions may include movement coaching, rehabilitative Pilates, corrective exercise, strength training, restorative yoga, breath training, gait analysis and everyday postural education. When we experience pain or tension or are in the process of rehabilitation, our bodies are stuck in unhelpful patterns of movement. In physical rehabilitation sessions, we get to the root of those patterns, formulate and test out new solutions, and strengthen those functional patterns.

Movement Specific Manual Therapy

Movement specific manual therapy has the specific purpose of increasing neuromuscular coordination, decreasing pain and increasing mobility. The human body is an intricate web of bones, muscles, fascia, and more. Pain or decreased mobility are the result of imbalances in activation & relaxation of the systems built up over time. Manual therapy is one modality to guide the body to more helpful patterns.

Mindful Strength Training

Rehabilitative pilates, corrective exercise, and mindful strength training focus on creating a sustainable strength. This is done through working with the breath, elongation and expansion while building a true core strength and precision of movement. By slowing down and moving with awareness and precision, we notice our unhelpful patterns and are able to create and strengthen helpful movement patterns.

Youth Physical Rehabilitation

Youth Physical Rehabilitation sessions are for children and youth under the age of 18. Sessions are shorter and can be helpful with recovery from injuries, pain, digestive issues other issues that cause pain or dysfunctional movement.

Sessions include similar techniques as adult physical rehabilitation, but from a more subtle approach. Whether your child is recovering from an athletic injury or experiencing discomfort or pain, manual therapy techniques and movement therapy exercises can be a non invasive way of providing relief and/or rehabilitation for life long health.
